Thanksgiving Prayers After Communion: Part 5

BLESSED, praised, worshipped, and adored be our Lord Jesus Christ on his throne of glory in heaven, and in the most holy Mysteries of his Body and Blood. R. AMEN.

Antiphon: Thou didst give us Bread from heaven: * so man did eat angels’ food. (Alleluia)

LORD, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, * according to thy word. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, * which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; To be a light to lighten the Gentiles, * and to be the glory of thy people Israel. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, * and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, * world without end. Amen.

Antiphon: Thou didst give us Bread from heaven: * so man did eat angels’ food. (Alleluia)

V. Kyrie eleison.
R. Christe eleison. Kyrie eleison.

Reader: Our Father … continued in silence until:

V. And lead us not into temptation.
R. But deliver us from evil.

V. O Lord, hear my prayer.
R. And let my cry come unto thee.

Let us pray.
GRANT, O Lord, that what we have received with out outward lips may ever preserve us in purity of heart: that these holy Gifts may be profitable unto us, unto life everlasting. Through Christ our Lord. R. AMEN.

After a Low Mass, the prayers may end here, with the dismissal:

V. May the divine help remain with us always. R. And with our absent brethren. Amen.

Otherwise the prayers continue:

WE THANK thee, almighty Father, who hast prepared thy holy Church to be a haven of rest for us and a temple of holiness wherein the Holy Trinity is glorified. (Alleluia.) R. AMEN.

WE THANK thee, O Christ our King and Saviour, who hast bestowed upon us life by thy life-giving Body and Blood. Grant us forgiveness and thy great mercy. (Alleluia.) R. AMEN.

WE THANK thee, Holy Spirit of Truth, who hast renewed thy Holy Church. Keep pure and without blemish her faith in the Holy Trinity, henceforth and for ever. (Alleluia.) R. AMEN.

O BLESSED Mary, Virgin and Mother most holy, thou wast worthy to bear in thy womb the Creator of all things, and to feed at thy breast him whose true, real, and most holy Body and Blood we have now received; Vouchsafe, we beseech thee, to intercede for us, that we may henceforth render unto him true and faithful service, and persevere to the end in loving union with him; that, at the last, we may with thee, most holy Mother of God, with our holy Father Benedict and with all the Saints, praise and adore him throughout all ages, world without end. R. AMEN.

HOLY Michael, Archangel, defend us in the day of battle; be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray: and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust down into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who wander the world, seeking the ruin of souls. R. AMEN.

BLESSED be our God who sanctifieth us with the holy Mysteries of his Body and Blood: who liveth and reigneth world without end. R. AMEN.

After Requiem Masses the following is said:

MAY the souls of the faithful, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. R. AMEN.

V. May the divine help remain with us always.
R. And with our absent brethren. Amen.
